In a mountain, there once lived a good woman. The woman was walking along the mountain trail on a beautiful morning. She noticed a gleaming stone in a brook on her way there. She decided to take it because it was a lovely stone.
After a few days on the same road, a traveller began to feel weak and weary. When the woman saw the visitor, she gave him food and a place to stay for the night in her small hut.
When the man was getting ready to continue his journey the next day, he discovered a gleaming little stone in a drawer. He immediately recognised the stone as extremely rare and valuable. The stranger offered to buy the woman’s stone. The woman, on the other hand, intimated him that he could have it for free.
The man thanked the woman and walked away, delighted with his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth a lot and would provide him with security for the rest of his life.
The traveller returned to the woman after a few days and returned the stone. “I recognise the value of this stone, but I return it to you in the faith that you may be able to provide me with something even more important.” He responded, “Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me this priceless stone.”
